The ideal texture is american buttercream but it may be too sweet for some people so you can definitely try and use other types of frosting if you so wish.
With a handheld or stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment beat the butter on high speed in a large bowl until smooth and creamy about 1 minute.
Start with one or two drops and stir together.
Bake in preheated oven for twenty five for 2 pans to forty minutes for a 9 13 big pan.
Place your first cake layer onto your cake plate then spread on a layer of the ganache about 1 4 thick.
If you want more of a pink classic neapolitan color just stir in a few drops of pink or red food coloring to the strawberry batter.
Once you have your three batters use a tablespoon to drop the batter into a checkerboard patter.
Repeat with the last two layers.
Trim off the cake dome if you have one.
Just remember it needs to hold its own once you are done.
